MAN OF TOMORROW Set Videos Reveal David Corenswet’s Superman Taking Flight in First Look
The first set photos from Man of Tomorrow have landed online, giving fans their earliest glimpse of David Corenswet back in action as Superman.
Along with the photos, some intriguing rehearsal footage has also surfaced, offering a few clues about what might be happening in the upcoming DCU movie.
Production is currently underway in Atlanta, Georgia, with parts of the city transformed into Metropolis for the film. While many fans were expecting their first major look at Lex Luthor's heavily teased Warsuit after James Gunn recently shared an image of the villain, it turns out Superman stole the spotlight instead.
The newly surfaced photos show Corenswet suited up as the Man of Steel, suspended high above a city street while holding a mysterious blue object over his head.
Some fans believe the object could eventually become The Daily Planet globe once visual effects are added. Others think it could be debris, a damaged vehicle, or something entirely different.
At this stage, it's impossible to know exactly what Superman is carrying, especially considering how much of the final sequence will likely be completed digitally.
The Superman suit he’s wearing this time appears slightly more fitted, though that could simply be the result of Corenswet adding more muscle since his last outing as the character. There also seems to be a higher collar and what looks like a redesigned rounded belt buckle.
There’s also a rehearsal video that appeared online. The footage shows a group of people piling onto an unidentified character who is assumed to be Superman. Who these attackers are and what exactly is happening in the scene remains unclear, but it's already fueling plenty of fan theories.
Now that Superman has officially been spotted on set, there's a good chance many more photos and videos will follow. Given the scale of the production and the amount of attention surrounding the movie, it wouldn't be surprising if additional looks at the film's cast and action sequences surface in the days ahead.
Man of Tomorrow will see Superman forced into an uneasy alliance with Lex Luthor as the two face Brainiac, a threat powerful enough to endanger not only Metropolis but the entire world.
Written and directed by Gunn, the film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Lars Eidinger as Brainiac, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Aaron Pierre as John Stewart, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific.
Recent additions to the cast include Andre Royo, Matthew Lillard, Sinqua Walls, and Adria Arjona.
Man of Tomorrow flies into theaters on July 9, 2027.
