Karl Urban Says THE BOYS Season 5 Opens with Major Deaths and “Anybody’s Fair Game”
Fans gearing up for the final run of The Boys might want to brace themselves. According to Billy Butcher actor Karl Urban, the upcoming fifth season wastes no time throwing viewers into the chaos, and it sounds like the carnage starts immediately.
Urban hit the San Francisco Fan Expo and didn’t sugarcoat what’s coming. “I think we throw you in the deep end, but in a good way, because the stakes are as high as they can possibly be.
“I think the real thing to look out for in season 5 on an emotional level, as far as the characters go, and your attachments to characters, there's going to be some big hits early on in the very first episode.”
Urban kept pushing the point, adding, “That's probably what is going to make you realize, 'Oh, this shit is for real.' The stakes couldn't be higher, and anybody's fair game.”
If you’ve watched the show through Season 4, you already know how unstable the world has become. Homelander now stands poised inside the White House, the Seven’s influence is stronger than ever, and the Boys are fractured, vulnerable and in some cases imprisoned.
Even with all the anticipation building, The Boys Season 5 still doesn’t have a confirmed release date. Eric Kripke offered fans a small update on Instagram back in October, saying the team is “hard at work” in post-production and that the final season is arriving “reasonably” soon. All signs still point toward a 2026 debut.
For now, the countdown continues and if Urban is right, audiences are getting a big shock right out of the gate.
