Ke Huy Quan Gives a Moving Acceptance Speech at the Gotham Awards and You Can Watch It Here
The amazing film, Everything Everywhere, All At Once won the big Best Feature Film award at the Gotham Awards recently, and actor Ke Huy Quan also took home the prize for his supporting role in the film, which was very much deserved. He gave such a wonderful and sincere performance in that movie.
Ke Huy Quan gave quite a moving, emotional, and heartfelt acceptance speech and you can watch it below. He began by saying: "Wow, this is incredible. This time last year, all I was hoping for was just a job. And just when I think that it can't get any better, it does. What an incredible honor."
He went on to thank anyone who had been involved with the movie saying: "Thank you so so so much. Thank you to everyone at A24 who helped us make and market this movie. Thank you Layline Entertainment. Thank you AGBO, and Joe and Anthony Russo. There is no Waymond without Evelyn. So thank you so much to Michelle Yeoh for sharing this amazing journey with me. Thank you to Jamie Lee Curtis for helping me find my confidence when I needed it the most. Of course, thank you to the entire cast and crew. I feel so lucky to be a part of this family.
"Oftentimes, it is in independent films where actors who wouldn't get another chance get their opportunities. I was that actor. Three wonderfully weird but insanely talented guys came along with this little movie. And they said the three words that every actor so eagerly wants to hear. 'We want you.' For the first time in a very long time, I was given a second chance. For that, I owe them everything. I'm shouting out a huge thank you to Daniel Kwan, Daniel Scheinert, and our producer Jonathan Wang. If it weren't for you, I would not be here today. Lastly, thank you to everyone who has seen our movie. Once, twice, three times. The most I've heard is 16 times! Thank you so much."
Now, Quan’s acting career is really taking off again, and I’m so excited and happy for him! I really hope that he keeps getting great acting gigs and that he ends up getting his own Indiana Jones spinoff series! That’s what I would love to see him eventually do!
