Kelsey Grammer is Confident He'll Return as Beast in The MCU
Kelsey Grammer was always a great choice to take on the role of Beast in the X-Men movies. Fans seemed to enjoy him in the role, but he was, unfortunately, completely underutilized in those X-Men movies.
Grammer ended up making his big return as the character in the mid-credits scene of The Marvels. Beast has officially been brought into the MCU, and it’s going to be really interesting to see how the whole X-Men dynamic plays out, but it’s safe to say that Deadpool 3 is going to play a bigger part in ushering that in, we just don’t exactly know how.
Regardless, Grammer is confident that his time in the MCU is not done and that he will return as Beast, which seems like a given. But, now he’s actually talking about it, and saying:
"It is my hope that you will [see him again]. I can say with a certain amount of confidence that you will. I would love to.”
Grammer was introduced as Beast in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand and also made a cameo in 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past, but in those films, he was wearing makeup and prosthetics. The Marvels version of the character was a CG version, which more resembled Beast’s appearance in the classic comic books and the '90s X-Men: The Animated Series.
Grammer went on to say that he was "very pleased" by fans' reactions to the cameo, adding:
"I've always wanted to play him again. I see him as an extraordinary character, a real character of gravitas and importance in our culture. I'm delighted Beast is back and hope he's back in a real way."
I would love for Beast to have a big role in the upcoming story arc that involves The X-Men, it would be great to see Beast actually get a strong storyline in the MCU.
