Kelsey Grammer’s Beast Rumored to Return in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY and AVENGERS: SECRET WARS
Kelsey Grammer’s surprise return as Beast in The Marvels post-credits scene was a pretty big and unexpected surprise, and that seemed to set him up to return in a future Marvel film project.
Now, a new report suggest Grammer’s Beast will be back for Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
Between The Marvels tease and Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel has set the stage for mutants from Fox’s X-Men universe (aka Earth-10005) to play a big role in what’s to come.
It’s being speculated that an incursion between Earth-10005 and Earth-616 could lead to a Avengers vs. X-Men showdown in live action. But even if there is no battle between the two, their worlds are going to collide in a big way.
Grammer himself isn’t saying much about his future in the MCU, but he did acknowledge the fan reaction to his return, saying:
"There was a huge sort of outburst when I showed up at the end of The Marvels. It wasn’t unexpected... but it was pretty overwhelming, and so there are some conversations."
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige also teased more X-Men on the horizon: "I think you will see that continue in our next few movies with some X-Men players that you might recognize." He went on to say that Secret Wars will lead directly into "a new age of mutants and of the X-Men."
Beast has appeared in nearly every X-Men movie since The Last Stand, with Nicholas Hoult taking over for Grammer in the prequels. But the character has never really quite reached his full potential on screen.
If Grammer’s Beast does return, it won’t just be nostalgia bait, it could be the MCU’s way of fully integrating mutants into the fold.
