Kevin Feige Reportedly Felt the FANTASTIC FOUR Cast Would Be "Way Too White" so He Pushed for Pedro Pascal
Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige reportedly feared that the cast shaping up for the Fantastic Four reboot was going to be “way too white”, so he pushed to get Pedro Pascal cast as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic.
This report comes from industry insider Jeff Sneider on his website The InSneider. He also says that the rest of the cast might end up including Venessa Kirby (Napoleon) as Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, along with Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm aka the Thing.
The report also confirms that Jake Gyllenhaal and Adam Driver were in the running for Reed Richards, but they wanted too much money. Gyllenhaal made absolutely no sense to me since he already played Mysterio in the Spider-Man films.
Then there’s Javier Bardem, who is up for the role of Galactus, which would be great. Marvel is going to lock in their cast soon and when they do, I’m sure they’ll make a big announcement. But, I do like the way the cast is shaping up.
What do you think about the possible casting for Fantastic Four?
