Kevin Feige Says It's Likely That Venom and Spider-Man Will Have a Crossover Film and It's Up To Sony
After Sony teamed up with Marvel for Spider-Man, a lot of fans wondered if we would ever see the character crossover with Venom or the other Marvel characters that Sony is developing movies for. As you know, Sony is setting up their own little Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man characters, but as of right now, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man isn’t a part of it.
Over the years, Kevin Feige has been bombarded with questions regarding Spider-Man and Venom crossing over and he’s always denied it and said that there are no plans to include Venom in the MCU.
Well, Feige seems to be changing his tune. In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, he was asked again if the characters would end up crossing over with each other and his response was a lot different from anything that he’s said in the past.
“I think probably it's up to Sony. Sony has both those characters and, has Venom in their world. I don't know what their plans are for another Venom or if they’re doing that. But it seems likely at some point.”
So, the ball is in Sony’s court to make it happen!? Does that mean Marvel wants to do it and is just waiting to see how things play out with Sony and the cinematic universe they are building? Feige thinks that it will eventually happen, but when it does, will it be a part of the MCU or will it be completely separate from that? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
It would certainly be interesting and cool to see Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man come face to face with each other.
With Marvel opening up the whole multiverse aspect of things, I guess anything is possible at this point. What do you think? Would you like to see the two versions of these characters get thrown into an adventure together on the big screen?
Personally, I’d be more interested in seeing how Marvel would handle Venom and his crossover with Spider-Man.
