Kevin Feige Says The Next Avengers Team in the MCU will Be Very Different and The Groundwork is Being Laid For Them in Phase 4

After Kevin Feige announced the full slate of Phase 4 films at Comic-Con this weekend, a lot of fans were left wondering where the next big Avengers event film was. A lot of fans were expecting a film like that to be announced but it just didn’t happen.

Don’t worry, though! There is an Avengers movie coming and Feige promises that the team they bring together in the MCU is going to be very different. While talking to MTV News, Feige explained:

"It will be a very different team than we've seen before, that's what [Avengers: Endgame] was all about. It will be a very different incarnation of the team with some people you've already met and some people you haven't met yet.”

Feige went on to explain that the groundwork is being laid for this team in Phase 4 and how they debated on whether or not they should have announced Phase 4 and 5 at Comic-Con:

"We debated what we should announce today. Should we announce 4 and 5? We've planned them out, we've got five years down the road and I was like, I think eleven projects in two years is plenty. Having not mentioned anything for two or three years."

Eleven projects in two years is a lot! If they keep that pace up, in the next five years they can pump out about 26 to 30 projects! Damn!

In a separate interview with CB, Feige was asked why there wasn't a new ensemble superhero movie announced at Comic-Con and Feige gave the following response:

“Well, we got a Falcon and Winter Soldier show, we got a WandaVision show. We’re introducing Monica Rambeau in that WandaVision show... Wanda Maximoff, who is probably near the upper echelons of power — I contend she would have taken down Thanos if he hadn’t called the [army], it was done — so her being the Scarlet Witch now, as Lizzie said on stagein a full sort of unabashed power-based [way], coming into the Doctor Strange movie, that is two heroes coming together in a fun way.”

It’ll be awesome and interesting to see what all of these new films lead to. I’m ridiculously excited for the future of Marvel! The films they have coming are going to be so much fun and so epic! At this moment, the one that I’m most excited for is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness!
