Kevin Feige's STAR WARS Movie isn't Going To Happen Anytime Soon

As Star Wars fans enjoy The Mandalorian and await the release of The Rise of Skywalker, we are still wondering what the future of the franchise holds. Lucasfilm is still trying to figure it out, but the first movie after The Rise of Skywalker will drop in 2022.

That 2022 movie will not be the one that is being developed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. According to Kathleen Kennedy, that movie isn’t going to happen for a long time. When talking about Feige’s involvement with Star Wars with Rolling Stone, Kennedy said:

"Kevin has been a huge fan of Star Wars, and he’s made that pretty clear. [When] he went off to do a couple of the Spider-Man movies, he realized that he could kind of step in and out of what he’s doing specifically with just Marvel. He talked to us, and he talked to the studio and said, ‘Is there any chance I could step in and do one of the Star Wars movies?'"

Kennedy then said that what he pitched was a “pretty cool idea” and that the project is only in the very early stages of development:

"So we’re just beginning to talk about what that might be and when that might be. But it’s a ways off."

It’s going to be really interesting to see what Feige ends up bringing to the table for Star Wars. All we know about it right now is that his story will explore new people and places in that universe.

What would you like to see from the future of Star Wars?
