Kevin Smith Casts Method Man and Redman in JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT

Kevin Smith has announced more cast for his Jay and Silent Bob Reboot film. He recently shared a new photo featuring Method Man and Redman hanging out with Jay (Jason Mewes) and Bob (Smith).

They already shot a big scene in the movie and in regards to that, Smith said, “moment we called ‘Action,’ the legends launched into the single best first take I ever shot in 25 years: they were pitch-perfect and hysterical (and a little touching)! It was so good, I could’ve cut their whole performance from that one take!”

Check out the full photo and Smith’s comments below:

Method Man and Redman join the previously cast Joe Manganiello (True Blood), Craig Robinson (The Office), Frankie Shaw (SMILF), Justin Long (Tusk), and Jordan Monsanto, who is a producer of several of Smith’s film projects. Then there are Flash stars Grant GustinTom Cavanagh, and Carlos Valdes,

Saban Films picked up the North American distribution rights to the film, which will follow Jay and Silent Bob on a new adventure, one that can't necessarily be classified as a traditional reboot. Smith previously explained:

"If you remember Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, it was a movie in which Jay and Silent Bob found out Hollywood was making a movie about them so they went cross country to Hollywood to stop that from happening. Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is completely fucking different. In Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Jay and Silent Bob find out that Hollywood is making a reboot of that old movie that they had made about them, and they have to go cross the country to Hollywood to stop it all over again. it’s literally the same fucking movie all over again. It’s a movie that makes fun of sequels and remakes and reboots while being all three at the same time."

The movie is expected to be released this fall. Kevin Smith will also be sharing production video diaries while he’s shooting the film. You can also see the first official photo from the film here.
