Kiefer Sutherland Cast in THE FUGITIVE Series at Quibi
24 star Kiefer Sutherland is set to star in a series adaption of the classic story The Fugitive. Most people are familiar with the 1993 Harrison Ford movie, which was such a fantastic film!
Sutherland has perfectly been cast in the role of Detective Clay Bryce who is trying to apprehend Mike Ferro, who is being played by Boyd Holbrook. Bryce is pretty much the detective character that was played by Tommy Lee Jones in the movie. The names of the characters have obviously been changed and here’s the synopsis that was provided:
When a bomb rips through the Los Angeles subway train he’s riding on, blue-collar Mike Ferro (Holbrook) just wants to make sure his wife, Allison, and 10-year-old daughter, Pearl, are safe. But the faulty evidence on the ground and “tweet-now, confirm-later” journalism paint a nightmarish picture: it looks to all the world that Mike was responsible for the heinous act. Wrongfully—and very publicly—accused, Mike must prove his innocence by uncovering the real perpetrator, before the legendary cop (Sutherland) heading the investigation can apprehend him.
Warner Bros. Television is producing the series and I’m interested in watching it. The only thing is, I’m not going to subscribe to Quibi, which is yet another streaming service. That service is being build by Jeffrey Katzenberg and while there are some interesting shows being developed for it such as a Varsity Blues series and a “super scary” horror series from Steven Spielberg, I’m just not convinced. Regardless, I do like the casting for The Fugitive and I’m sure it’ll end up being a great show.
There are also projects being developed at Quibi by Guillermo del Toro, Antoine Fuqua, Sam Raimi, Jason Blum, Steven Soderbergh, Catherine Hardwick, Anna Kendrick, Doug Liman, Laurence Fishburne, Don Cheadle and Idris Elba.
