Kojima Confirms OD Will Be a Horror Anthology From Jordan Peel and Other “Avengers” of Horror

Hideo Kojima is finally peeling back the curtain on his mysterious horror game OD, and it's sounding more ambitious, and more terrifying, than we expected.

During the Beyond The Strand event celebrating the 10th anniversary of Kojima Productions, Kojima revealed some intriguing new details about OD, including a cryptic teaser for something called OD - Knock.

While fans were confused about the shift in title, Kojima cleared it up during the panel. "Well, 'Knock' is a subtitle. So I am kind of designing the fear of the knock. I really am afraid of big knock sounds."

That eerie concept is just one piece of the larger picture he's crafting. As it turns out, OD is shaping up to be an anthology-style horror game with different segments, each built around a unique fear, and a unique creator behind it.

Kojima emphasized that the horror will shift depending on who's at the helm of each chapter. "There's a different kind of fear Jordan will do," he said, referring to filmmaker Jordan Peele, who had already been announced as part of the project. The event's host even pointed out that each segment’s tone and terror will be tailored by its respective director.

He went on to tease a whole squad of collaborators he dubbed "The Avengers," hinting at a full lineup of creative minds who will each take on a chapter of OD.

We don’t know who all is involved yet, but Kojima’s comment opens the door for horror legends, maybe even someone like John Carpenter, to get weird with their own unique take on fear.

Although OD was first announced almost two years ago, we're still pretty much in the dark about what the full game will look like. Kojima didn't drop a release date or any concrete gameplay details during the event.

For now, all we know is that OD is going to be a horror experience built from the ground up to scare players in a variety of creative and psychological ways.

Stay tuned, Kojima’s just getting started, and if this teaser is any indication, OD is going to get weird, creepy, and unforgettable.
