Krysten Ritter Joins DEXTER RESSURECTION in a Guest Arc
Krysten Ritter is stepping into a world of Dexter as she joins Dexter: Resurrection. The Jessica Jones and Orphan Black: Echoes star has signed on for a guest arc in the series, which brings Michael C. Hall’s infamous serial killer Dexter Morgan back into the spotlight.
According to Deadline, Ritter’s role might be more sinister than it first appears. Ritter will play Mia Lapierre, a renowned sommelier with a possible dark side.
Given Dexter’s history of morally complex characters, there’s a good chance Mia isn’t just pairing wines, she’ll most likley have a taste for something more dangerous.
Yesterday, Ritter posted an Instagram story captioned “NYC bound baby.” With Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane, recently saying that production on Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 was set to begin the next day, fans thought she was going to be reprising her role as Jessica Jones.
This also comes after Marvel Studios’ streaming and TV executive Brad Winderbaum teased that the studio was “exploring” bringing back other Defenders characters, including Ritter’s Jessica Jones.
So, of course, fans are going to jump to that conclusion that Ritter’s NYC trip meant she was returning to the Marvel universe. But Deadline says otherwise. They hear that she’s heading to the Big Apple for Dexter: Resurrection, not Daredevil.
This latest Dexter installment, which has been filming in New York since last month, boasts an impressive cast alongside Michael C. Hall, David Zayas, James Remar, Jack Alcott, Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, and Emilia Suárez.
