Aaron Pierre Shares His Passion for STAR WARS and What It Means to Join STAR WARS: STARFIGHTER
Aaron Pierre, who stars in DC Studios’ Lanterns, is also officially stepping into the Star Wars universe. The actor recently opened up about joining Shawn Levy’s highly anticipated Star Wars: Starfighter, and this experience means a lot to him.
In a new interview with Esquire, Pierre shared just how much this opportunity means, expressing pure excitement about becoming part of one of cinema’s most beloved franchises.
“Dude, I’m ecstatic. I’m over the moon. There are really no words to articulate how thrilled, energized, grateful I am. I’m just so thankful to be part of these beloved franchises and these beloved stories. As always, I’m going to do my best to give everything I have every single day I’m on set.”
Pierre also took a moment to praise Levy’s vision for the project and the passionate energy driving the production.
“All I can say is Shawn [Levy] is so very wonderful. He’s so passionate. He cares so very much, as does everyone who is involved in this.”
Speaking about the creative team’s shared focus, Pierre added that everyone working on Starfighter is fully dedicated to making something truly special.
“Everyone involved is invested in creating the very best version of this film to the fans and the supporters, and to those who will be introduced to the world for the first time. We understand the magnitude of this, so we’re very excited.”
The actor also reminisced about the first time he experienced Star Wars as a kid, recalling the moment he saw The Phantom Menace with his uncle.
“It was so larger-than-life, cinematic, engaging, thrilling, and very emotional, especially as a five-year-old.”
While Starfighter remains shrouded in mystery and Pierre’s role hasn’t been revealed yet, production is currently underway in the United Kingdom and expected to continue through the end of the year. It’ll be really interesting and cool to see what this story ends up being.
