Larry David's HBO Series CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM May End With Season 12... It Also May Not
Every season of HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm threatens to be its last, but every time, Larry David comes back around and says he is ready to make another one. The Seinfeld creator is a comedic genius, and he plays an outlandish version of himself on the show that is about to air its twelfth season. We previously reported that the show would likely end after this season, as we have with seasons before, but also reported how the door is certainly not closed for a return shortly after.
HBO chief Casey Bloys addressed the speculation when asked about it at the network’s programming presentation this week:
“We generally leave that up to Larry, and I think he’s thinking about what he wants to do. He knows it’s been an open invitation, so I think he’s going to decide if he wants to do more or whether this is going to be the final season, I would guess before it airs.”
Executive producer Jeff Schaffer said in an August 2022 interview with IndieWire:
“When you sign up to do a season of Curb, you’re signing up to do the final season of Curb. And I finally figured out why. It’s because when Larry does a season, he puts every idea that he really likes into that season. So at the end of the season, there’s this hole — there aren’t any ideas that he really likes — so how could he possibly do another season? He’s the only person on the planet who doesn’t think he’s going to come up with more good ideas.”
Larry David always has more ideas because life just keeps happening, and he keeps finding ways of making it funny, and insanely awkward, as only he can do! Season 12 of Curb Your Enthusiasm is set to hit HBO sometime soon. We’ll keep you posted.
