LEGION Creator Noah Hawley Tried to Make an ALIEN Series But Got Denied

Noah Hawley has made some pretty fantastic shows with FX’s Legion and Fargo, and it turns out that he tried to make a series based on the Alien franchise! I think Hawley would’ve delivered an awesome show. Unfortunately his attempts to to develop the show were denied.

According to Deadline, Fox CEO Stacey Snider “fended off an attempt by Hawley and FX to take the Aliens franchise and turn it into a miniseries.” She didn’t want to give up the franchise to a TV series.

There are no details on what the series would have entailed, but it certainly would have been a project that I think fans would have supported.

It’s going to be interesting what happens with the Alien franchise now that it is under the Disney banner. I think a lot of fans would love to see director Neill Blomkamp get to develop his idea, but at this point I don’t think that’s going to happen. I’d be surprised if it did.
