Liv Tyler is Reportedly Wanted For The Upcoming CHILD'S PLAY Reboot
A few weeks ago it was announced that MGM was developing a reboot of the classic horror franchise Child's Play. This is completely separate from what co-creator Don Mancini has been doing with the franchise over the years including the recently announced TV series.
Today we are learning from That Hashtag Show that the studio is looking at casting Liv Tyler (The Incredible Hulk, The Lord of the Rings) in the film. The reboot was described as a "contemporary reboot involving a group of kids... and a technologically-advanced doll enters their world." If cast, Tyler would take on the role of Karen, the mother of the lead child character Andy.
The reboot is being produced by the same guys who helped bring Stephen King's IT to the big screen, David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith. Lars Klevberg (Polaroid) will direct the film from a script written by Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury).
Don Mancini isn't a part of the movie and neither is actor Brad Dourif, who has provided the voice for Chucky all of these years.
Don't get me wrong, I love Liv Tyler, but this whole reboot of Child's Play just seems like a bad idea.
