Live-Action CARMEN SANDIEGO Film to Star ANNIHILATION's Gina Rodriguez

Carmen Sandiego is a fun franchise. Fun shows, fun games, fun cosplays, and it’s fun to see her with Waldo. Last year, we learned that Netflix was making a new animated series about the criminal that no one can find, and Deadline has brought us news that she will also be getting a feature film. It's said to be "a standalone Carmen adventure that will embrace the beloved ’90s property."

This is fantastic! Both the series and the film will star Gina Rodriguez of Annihilation and Jane the Virgin fame as the notorious woman who is great at hiding. No writer or director has been attached to the project yet, so we should temper our excitement a little.

In addition to starring in the film, Rodriguez will also produce it through her I Can and I Will productions along with Kevin Misher and Caroline Fraser. Sadly, no release dates have been given either, but many are speculating we’ll see it sometime in 2019.
