LOKI Season 2 Viewership is Significantly Less Than Season 1

In case you’re wondering what the viewership has been like for Marvel’s Loki Season 2, because, you know… superhero fatigue, The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that viewership for the second season of the series is significantly less than Season 1.

Nielsen’s streaming rankings say Loki gathered approximately 446 million minutes of viewing time over the first three days of the debut of Season 2. These 446 million minutes also include viewings of the first season, meaning Loki Season 2’s numbers are most likely lower than that amount.

For comparison, the 2021 series premiere of Loki received approximately 731 million minutes of viewing, meaning season two’s numbers are about 39 percent lower than the first season, and that’s a pretty significant drop. However, the claims that Disney is making are much different. They say the premiere of Loki Season 2 was the second most-watched Disney+ series premiere following The Mandalorian Season 3’s first episode, with 10.9 million “views,” which translates to 512 million minutes of view time. Of course, Disney is going to want to inflate the numbers.

Regardless, I’ve actually been enjoying Loki Season 2! It’s taken some fun and interesting twists and turns with the story. But, it’s obviously not on the priority watch list of a lot of people.

Marvel and Disney certainly have their work cut out for them to keep audiences and fans interested in and excited about their upcoming slate of projects. It’s all about good-quality storytelling and filmmaking. They need to stop rushing things out and take time to develop their projects properly.
