Lucasfilm Denies Rumors That The A STAR WARS STORY Films Have Been Put on Hold

A couple of days ago a rumor surfaced regarding Lucasfilm putting a hold on the A Star Wars Story films. It's a rumor that I didn't buy into and didn't seem to make sense. Well, it turns out those rumors weren't true after all.

ABC News reached out to Lucasfilm for a comment and they said the rumors were "inaccurate" and "speculative at best." Lucasfilm went on to tell ABC News that there are still "multiple" Star Wars films currently in development that have not been officially announced. "Those projects are moving forward separate from an already-announced Star Wars trilogy being overseen by The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and another series of movies from Game of Thrones producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss."

As I said before, it was hard to think that they would scrap everything because only one of their films, Solo: A Star Wars Story, ended up having a disappointing box office return. Even though it was a disappointment, the movie actually still did pretty well.

I'm happy to hear that Lucasfilm isn't scrapping their A Star Wars Story plans! Those two films, Rogue One and Solo, are the best movies that they've made so far.

This news comes after another report that says the studio will not be gambling with inexperienced directors anymore. They will focus on bringing in more seasoned talent for smoother productions. That bit of news is actually believable.

So, it looks like there's still a chance that we will get that Porkins: A Star Wars Story movie that was mentioned in the comments! As far as we know, the Obi-Wan film is still inching towards production along with James Mangold's Boba Fett movie.

I'm optimistic about the Star Wars franchise and I'm excited to see how the future slate of films end up turning out.
