Lucasfilm Games Has Undergone Some Rebranding
Here’s some interesting news. Roughly 2 years ago, there was talk going around of Disney reviving Lucasfilm Games. Disney quickly came out though and announced that Lucasfilm Games was still in existence to help with managing game licenses. Well, now Lucasfilm Games appears to be back with a rebranding and maybe some changes in store.
Announced over on StarWars.com, Lucasfilm Games appears to be making a more public resurgence. The announcement appears to be not much more than a rebrand, but there is one line that is giving many fans hope. While Battlefront II started winning fans over after a horrific launch debacle and fans overall have enjoyed Jedi: Fallen Order and Squadrons, EA has still left a sour taste in many fans’ mouths. Well, in the announcement, it states that Lucasfilm Games is “developed in collaboration with the finest studios across the industry.” Notice how that one word is plural. It looks like the exclusive deal with EA may be coming to an end.
Along with the announcement, a sizzle video was released with the launch of official social channels on Twitter and Facebook. The video is a little underwhelming as it’s just showing off their latest games and nothing new and nothing to really get fans excited unless I missed something. I am personally hoping that the new Lucasfilm Games brings us proper remakes of Knights of the Old Republic I & II and gives us a proper third title in the series. What do you think of the new rebrand? What do you hope comes of it?
