Last week there were reports that Hayden Christensen had signed on to play Anakin Skywalker in Lucasfilm’s Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It was also rumored that Darth Vader would be appearing in the series as well. No details were given as to how all of this will be incorporated into the story, but a new rumor offers us a hint.

Kessel Run Transmissions is reporting that the series will feature flashbacks to The Clone Wars. If this is true, it’s not hard to imagine that some of the flashbacks would include Anakin/Darth Vader. The report says, "last year when the Kenobi series was officially announced my source told me two things. One, that Ahsoka was going to be cast in The Mandalorian, and that Clone Wars flashbacks were going to be featured in Kenobi."

The source reporting the news was the first to report that Ahsoka was going to appear in The Mandalorian Season 2. With that coming true, there’s a good chance that this will turn out to be true as well. Unless things changed during the development.

I’m curious to know what these flashbacks will entail. It would be interesting to see if they include live-action versions of some of the moments from the series. I assume they will mostly be new moments between Kenobi and Skywalker and that will inform what happens in Kenobi's show. One thing is for sure, it’ll be cool to see Ewan McGregor wearing his awesome armored outfit from The Clone Wars!

Joby Harold is the latest writer to work on developing the show, and The Mandalorian director Deborah Chow is set to helm the entire series, which will incorporate the same awesome technology that is being used to develop The Mandalorian.
