Mackenzie Davis Teases How TERMINATOR: DARK FATE Ties Into The first Two TERMINATOR Films
It’s been made very clear that Terminator: Dark Fate is a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgement Day. This new film ignores all of the other films that have been made. Producer James Cameron and director Tim Miller even managed to bring back Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton to reprise their roles in the franchise.
While the two characters they play are two big ties to the original films, there’s another thread that co-star Mackenzie Davis has teased. She wouldn’t say much because she doesn’t want to spoil anything, but she did say:
“I think it ties into the first two movies in a way that’s really important, the whole scene with the blade on the table. Beyond that, I feel so scared to talk about this movie.”
I assume she referring to the scene in Terminator 2 where Sarah Connor carves the words “No Fate” into the wooden table with a knife. This is inspired by the scene where John Connor tells the T-800 that, "The whole thing goes: The future's not set. There's no fate but what we make for ourselves."
With the title of the new film being Dark Fate, I think you can start putting some of the pieces of the puzzle together.
I got to see some of the first footage from Terminator: Dark Fate at CinemaCon last week, and I was kind of blown away by it! It was filled with a lot of badass action sequences that you can read all about here. While I know a lot of people aren’t feeling the excitement for this movie, I think that once people see a trailer that will all change.
The official synopsis for Terminator: Dark Fate reads:
