Margot Robbie Says She's Been "Pushing Hard" For a Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy Romance

Margot Robbie has been talking about bringing Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy together in the DC Cinematic Universe for years. This is something that she is still pushing for, and I can’t help but think that one day it’ll happen. But, until it does, Robbie will continue to be asked about it, and offer responses like:

“I have been pushing for that for years. I cannot tell you how hard I’ve been pushing for that. I want it too.”

She was also asked if she has a particular actress in mind for the role of Poison Ivy, but if she does, she’s not saying:

“Honestly, when I pictured, I always picture like Poison Ivy in the comics. I don’t really actually picture an actress doing it, but I agree, that would be so good.”

At this point, we just have to wait and see what James Gunn is planning for the future of DC films. It’s safe to say that right now, there is no forward movement on another Harley Quinn film project. That won’t happen until after Gunn and Peter Safran lay out their master plan and start pursuing new DC projects.

When previously talking about playing with the relationship of Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, Robbie said:

“Yeah. If you read the comics you know that Poison Ivy and Harley have an intimate relationship. In some comics they convey it as a friendship; in other comics you can see that they're actually sexually involved as a couple. I've been trying to -- I would love to have Poison Ivy thrown into the universe, because the Harley and Poison Ivy relationship is one of my favorite aspects of the comics, so I'm looking to explore that on screen.”

As a fan of these characters, I hope that one day we will see them team up for some kind of wild and crazy adventure on the big screen. Is there a story in particular that you’d like to see?
