Margot Robbie Set To Star in Disney's New PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN Movie
Margot Robbie is set to star in Disney’s upcoming female-led Pirates of the Caribbean remake and the film is being written by Bumblebee and Birds of Prey writer Christina Hodson.
It was previously revealed that franchise veteran Ted Elliott and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin were brought on to develop a story. It’ll be interesting to see what that story ends up being.
While I’m not the biggest fan of Birds of Prey, I loved Bumblebee. So, even though I’m not interested in seeing another Pirates movie, I hope that Hodson and the creative team will be able to come up with a great story and script that will perk my interest.
It was previously reported that Jack Sparrow will be replaced by a female pirate named Redd in this reboot. This is a new female pirate that was included in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at the Disney theme parks. Redd can be seen in the auction scene of the ride.
Karen Gillan was said to be originally up for the role, but that obviously didn’t work out. I actually think Gillan would have been great in the movie, but I like Robbie as well and I’m sure that she’ll make a solid pirate.
Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced all five films in the franchise, will produce this new reboot as well. What do you all think about Margot Robbie starring in the next Pirates movie?
