Mario Blasts Off in First Trailer for THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE

The first trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has arrived, and it teases a cosmic-sized adventure that sends everyone’s favorite plumber and his friends beyond the Mushroom Kingdom and on a grand exciting journey..

The trailer starts with Bowser, who has been shrunk down and locked away in a mini version of his castle, and while stewing in his tiny prison, he’s been channeling his rage into painting, including one particularly questionable portrait of himself with Princess Peach. Naturally, Mario isn’t thrilled about that.

Things get even wilder when a cascade of meteors streaks across the sky, kicking off an interstellar journey that takes Mario and Luigi from Super Mario Odyssey’s Sand Kingdom all the way to the edges of space.

Joining the adventure is newcomer Rosalina, voiced by Brie Larson, who’s being hunted by Benny Safdie’s Bowser Jr. in his massive Super Mario Galaxy mech, Megaleg.

The rest of the voice cast includes Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, and Keegan-Michael Key.

Mario’s legendary creator Shigeru Miyamoto recently offered an exciting update on the project, confirming that things are nearly wrapped up. “We’re in the final stages of production now, but I think it’s going to be fun.

“I usually just say, ‘I’ll keep working on it until it becomes fun,’ so that alone should tell you how confident I am.”

Alongside The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Nintendo is also hard at work on a live-action The Legend of Zelda film with Sony. That one’s been nudged slightly, now set for release on May 7, 2027.

As for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the wait won’t be nearly as long. Mario and crew officially lift off into theaters on April 3, 2026.

Looks like the Mushroom Kingdom is heading for the stars — and fans are coming along for one spectacular ride.
