Marvel Already Found DeWanda Wise's Replacement for CAPTAIN MARVEL Role

We recently found out that DeWanda Wise had to leave Captain Marvel due to scheduling conflicts with her Netflix show She’s Gotta Have It. Less than 24 hours passed before we found out that Marvel had already found her replacement.

Marvel is in final negotiations with Lashana Lynch according to THR. This will be Lynch’s biggest role to date as she has mostly been in indie movies such as Fast Girls and the ABC series Still Star-Crossed. There’s still no confirmation as to who this character will be in Captain Marvel although the popular guess is Monica Rambeau.

Lynch joins Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, and Jude Law for the first solo female hero movie from Marvel. Captain Marvel is scheduled to hit theaters March 8, 2019.
