Marvel Can't Put Netflix Shows on Disney+ for At Least 2 Years

If you’re a fan of any of the Marvel shows on Netflix, you’re probably figuring Disney has plans to bring them over to Disney+. Well, I have some bad news for you. That’s probably not the case.

According to Variety, the deal between Marvel and Netflix states that the characters from Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones cannot appear in any non-Netflix show or movie for at least two years after cancellation. That means that Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist could not hope to see the light of day again until 2020 unless they make cameos in The Punisher and/or Jessica Jones on Netflix.

Of course, there’s a chance that after two years Disney will want to reboot or revive the different series, but I’m not sure that they’re going to.

The Punisher was not part of the original deal with Netflix, so there’s no telling what can and can’t be done with that character. For all we know, it’s the one series Netflix will keep. However, if the rumors are true that Marvel pulled the plug on the others, it will probably end after its second season debuts in January 2019. Jessica Jones is set to premiere its third season sometime in 2019 as well and my guess is that it will then be cancelled as well.

What do you think Disney will do with these properties in about 3 years?
