Marvel Hires Jade Bartlett to Write DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

Marvel Studios has hired a writer to work on the script for director Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. According to Collider, up-and-coming screenwriter Jade Bartlett is the person who ended up landing the big job.

No pressure! This is only one of the most exciting films that Marvel is going to be releasing in Phase 4! Derrickson wrote the first film with C. Robert Cargill and Jon Spaihts. I imagine he’ll also be helping Bartlett write the script for the sequel, but that has yet to be seen.

Benedict Cumberbatch is set to return as Dr. Stephen Strange, a.k.a. the Sorcerer Supreme, and he’ll be joined by Benedict Wong and Elizabeth Olsen, who will return as Scarlet Witch. The Disney+ series WandaVision is going to play a big role in setting up Scarlet Witch’s role in The Multiverse of Madness. It’s believed that she will end up being the villain in the film, which would be pretty incredible.

Bartlett hasn’t done much work, but she did write the recent draft of the upcoming Mackenzie Davis horror movie The Turning, which looks really good! You can watch the trailer for that here.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is one of the upcoming Marvel movies that I’m most excited about. It’s set to be released on May 7th, 2021.
