Marvel Reportedly Building Out DEFENDERS Spinoffs After DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN Set Reveal

Marvel fans might finally be getting what they’ve been asking for since the Netflix days wrapped up. The street-level heroes of New York are coming back together, and if a new rumor pans out, that reunion could be just the beginning.

Recent set photos from Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 have already stirred excitement by showing the Defenders assembling again. Now it’s being reported that Marvel Studios could be developing solo spinoffs for each member of the team.

The rumor comes from scooper MyTimetoShineHello, who posted on X, “Oh yeah they’re setting up spinoffs for the Defenders.” That’s all we’ve got for now, and it’s important to keep expectations in check since Marvel hasn’t confirmed anything official about new projects for Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, or Iron Fist.

The Defenders have been slowly reintroduced into the MCU over the past few years. Spider-Man: No Way Home brought back Matt Murdock in a brief cameo, while Wilson Fisk made his presence felt again in Hawkeye.

Since then, Marvel has been steadily folding these characters back into the larger universe with Daredevil: Born Again.

What really pushed things into overdrive were those Born Again Season 3 set photos. They confirm the return of Mike Colter and Finn Jones, joining Krysten Ritter, who is already confirmed to return as Jessica Jones in Season 2. The trio were spotted leaving a Brooklyn courthouse, all wearing black hooded robes that partially revealed their suits underneath.

Colter’s Luke Cage looked like he stepped straight out of the Devil’s Reign storyline, rocking a brown and yellow suit similar to his mayoral campaign look. Jones’ Danny Rand kept things more grounded with a white shirt, green trousers, and light brown shoes. It’s a subtle but intriguing visual that hints at where these characters might be heading next.

As for Daredevil: Born Again, Season 3 is currently in production and aiming for a March 2027 release, though Marvel hasn’t locked in an exact date yet. There’s also a rumor floating around that the Defenders will be protecting New York at the start of the season while Matt Murdock is dealing with other problems, which would flip the usual dynamic in a pretty interesting way.

In the meantime, Season 2 is already underway on Disney+, with its first three episodes available now. New episodes are dropping weekly on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET through May 5, 2026.

The series comes from Dario Scardapane, who co-created it with Matt Corman and Chris Ord, and is steering the ship as showrunner.

The next chapter for this corner of the MCU continues with The Punisher: One Last Kill, a special presentation starring Jon Bernthal, set to hit on May 12, 2026.

For now, the spinoff talk is just a rumor, but it’s the kind of rumor that feels like it could actually happen. Marvel has clearly been rebuilding its street-level lineup piece by piece, and giving each Defender their own spotlight again would be a natural next step.
