Marvel Reportedly Scraps One Whole Episode From Limited Series ECHO; MS. MARVEL Season 2 in the Works
The Marvel limited series Echo has been in the works for a while, and it recently got a push from November to January, and along with that change, it has also reportedly been cut down from six episodes to five. Reliable industry scooper CanWeGetSomeToast says an entire episode has been scrapped from the already short season due to "pacing issues." I guess they figured they could tell the story in five episodes, and because there hasn’t been a ton of buzz around this series, they figure less is more in this case.
The origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.
Instead of debuting on November 29th as originally planned, the show will instead launch on Disney+ in January 2024.
Also in Marvel/Disney+ TV news, we heard that Ms. Marvel season 2 is already in the works. The creators of the series, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, recently said that a second season will hinge on what happens with Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) in the upcoming movie The Marvels. But it looks like if the rumor is true, there’s enough story still to tell in a second season for the character.
The Marvels is set to hit theaters on November 10th.
