Marvel Rumor Teases a Potential Wolverine and Spider-Man Crossover Movie

The Marvel rumor mill is working overtime again, and this latest one is the kind of idea that would instantly light up the fandom.

After the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have been wondering if Hugh Jackman might keep the claws out for more Marvel adventures. Now a new report suggests Marvel Studios and Sony could be eyeing something pretty wild… a movie that pairs Wolverine with Spider-Man.

If this rumor ever becomes reality, it would bring together two of the most iconic Marvel heroes ever created, and longtime fans would absolutely eat it up.

According to scooper MTTSH, there are early discussions about a crossover project that would unite Wolverine and Spider-Man on the big screen. The insider shared the following claim:

“Marvel Studios and Sony are interested in doing a Spider-Man & Wolverine movie”

This would be huge! Wolverine and Spider-Man are two of Marvel’s most beloved characters, and while they’ve teamed up countless times in comics, cartoons, and video games, they’ve never shared the spotlight in a live-action movie.

The rumor that’s circulating online uses an image of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man alongside Jackman’s Wolverine, which immediately sparked speculation about a crossover between the two longtime fan-favorite versions of the characters.

For many Marvel fans who grew up with the early 2000s superhero boom, seeing these two legends interact on screen would be a surreal moment.

Of course, it’s worth remembering that rumors about the Marvel Cinematic Universe pop up constantly, and plenty of them never pan out. So this is definitely something to take with a grain of salt for now. Still, it’s easy to imagine how crazy audiences would go if Wolverine and Spider-Man finally crossed paths in live-action.

Technically, the Spider-Man side of this equation could involve any of the three cinematic Peter Parkers. But the idea of Jackman’s Wolverine trading quips with Maguire’s Peter Parker carries a certain nostalgic appeal that longtime fans would love to see.

Interestingly, Maguire’s name has already been floating around in other MCU rumors. One report claimed that he could play a significant role in Avengers: Secret Wars, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

Ever since Spider-Man: No Way Home sent Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Peter Parker back to their respective universes, fans have been hoping those characters would return.

With the MCU leaning heavily into the multiverse, the door is definitely open. It’s also something that Kevin Feige has wanted to see happen for years.

In the meantime, Marvel’s next Spider-Man adventure is already on the calendar. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently set to hit theaters on July 31, and it’s part of the 2026 movie lineup. As for whether Jackman will slash his way back into the MCU again, that’s something fans will be watching closely.

If a Spider-Man and Wolverine movie ever actually happens, though… yeah, a lot of people would be lining up for that one!
