Marvel Studios Finds Directors for VISION Series

The upcoming Vision series is taking shape with three directors set to helm episodes of the WandaVision follow-up.

According to cinematographer Christopher Rossonline résumé, Vision will be directed by Terry Matalas, best known for Star Trek: Picard, who will also serve as the showrunner.

Christopher J. Byrne, a frequent collaborator of Matalas, whose work includes 12 Monkeys and American Gods. Then there’s Vincenzo Natali, the wild card of the bunch, known for The Peripheral and Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities.

His horror background could bring an eerie and surreal tone to the series, which is something that aligns with reports of Vision exploring "weird places."

Originally, WandaVision creator Jac Schaeffer was set to direct before shifting focus to Agatha All Along. Despite this change, Vision is still expected to be part of what some are calling a WandaVision “trilogy.”

This could all be leading to a long-rumored Scarlet Witch movie potentially drawing from Avengers: The Children's Crusade, where Wanda, Vision, Billy, and Tommy reunite.

Paul Bettany is back as Vision, and Marvel is bringing in some familiar (and unexpected) faces with James Spader returning as Ultron, which raises major questions about the former Avenger’s mission.

Todd Stashwick (12 Monkeys) has joined the cast in an undisclosed role; Faran Tahir is reprising his role as Raza from Iron Man, possibly connecting the series to the MCU’s earliest days; and Ruaridh Mollica has been cast as “Tucker.”

While some speculate he could be playing an older Tommy Maximoff, other rumors suggest Vision may be building himself a new family. If that’s the case, Mollica might be taking on the role of Vin Vision or even Victor Mancha, Ultron’s son.

While details are still scarce, Paul Bettany has teased what’s coming: "We’re cooking up something that I’m really excited about," he said, confirming that filming will begin in 2025. As for spoilers? He playfully added, "Snitches end up in ditches."

He also shared his thoughts on Agatha All Along, saying: "I love [Agatha All Along]. I love it and I’m so proud of [showrunner] Jac Schaeffer and I am going to watch again because there’s so much for me to learn moving forward into my contribution."

Meanwhile, Kathryn Hahn touched on Vision’s place in the MCU, syaing: "We always thought of it as a trilogy with the Vision show, but who knows? They run a tight ship over there. I’ve heard nothing."

Vision is expected to drop at some point in 2026, but given the delays with Ironheart and Wonder Man, that could be pushed back.
