James Spader's Return to Ultron May Be Completely Different in Marvel's VISION Spinoff Series

A few days ago, we reported that actor James Spader would be returning to Marvel to play Ultron in the upcoming Vision series. He originally voiced the villainous AI robot in Marvel’s 2015 film Avengers: Age of Ultron. But we may be seeing the character in a whole new way in this new series.

According to a report from Deadline, “The role in Vision may not be voiceover, we hear.” This doesn’t sound 100% positive, but if it’s true, it sounds like we will be seeing Ultron in his human form.

It may also be referencing the fact that when Spader previously played the role, he didn’t just do voice work, but actually suited up for motion-capture work as well.

Created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, Ultron was intended to be a peacekeeping program designed to protect Earth from future threats. However, upon gaining sentience, Ultron quickly concludes that humanity itself is the greatest threat to the planet and must be eradicated.

Details of the new series have not been revealed, but the Marvel Vision series has been in development at Disney+ since 2022. At the time, it was reported that the series would center on The Vision (Paul Bettany) trying to regain his memory and humanity.

While the focus is on Vision, there is a possibility for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear, which would make sense given how interconnected the two characters’ stories are in the MCU.

What do you think of this possibility?
