Marvel Studios Has 20 More Marvel Movies in the Pipeline That Are "Different From Anything That's Come Before"

We already know that Avengers 4 will bring an end to not only the third phase of the MCU, but it will be the conclusion to everything that started with Iron Man. There will be 22 films in the first three phases of Marvel's movie plan. After that, everything is going to be different.

During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that Avengers 4 will “bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale. There will be two distinct periods. Everything before Avengers 4 and everything after. I know it will not be in ways people are expecting.”

As for what comes after, we don't know much. We know the first film after Avengers 4 will be the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. We also know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will be used to launch a new overreaching story arc in the MCU. As for how many films that story arc will entail, Feige reveals that they have 20 films already in the pipeline!

He says that Marvel Studios is “22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before – intentionally." Disney CEO Bob Iger adds, “We’re looking for worlds that are completely separate — geographically or in time — from the worlds that we’ve already visited.”

This is pretty damn exciting and I can't wait to find out what else Marvel has got cooking! I seriously doubt we'll find out anything until after Avengers 4 is released. James Gunn has a big role in shaping what we are going to see from Marvel in the future, and I have no doubt things are going to get pretty wild.

When talking about the future of Marvel, Scarlett Johansson says:

“I feel a lot of joy for the next generation. It’s a bittersweet feeling, but a positive one.”

Marvel Studio has 7,000 characters that they can work with, and I love that they are looking to really change things up and take the films in a completely different direction with lots of completely different characters.

With another 20 films being planned out, Marvel has the next 10 to 15 years already planned out and I seriously doubt that it's going to stop there. Marvel's future looks bright and it's going to be fun when they eventually start to pull back the curtain on their exciting future.
