Marvel Studios May Not Deliver an INFINITY SAGA Level Story For at Least Another 10 Years
It looks like Marvel fans are going to have to wait a while before the studio tries to attempt another Infinity Saga level story. They pulled off something incredible from Iron Man to Spider-Man: Far From Home over the course of ten years. Now as they move into Phase 4, fans have been wondering if this will all tie into another epic story.
Well, according to Marvel producer Trinh Tran, we won’t see another Infinity Level saga story for at least another 10 years. While talking to CinemaBlend, she was asked if there are already plans in motion to deliver another expansive tale like Infinity Saga, or if Marvel Studios is taking a more relaxed approach with the interconnectivity among its movies, she responded:
“Our focus right now is to make sure that the titles that we’ve released in Phase 4… obviously those stories are going to be new, exciting, different and can connect with the audience like the other movies have been. Over 10 years ago, it’s always been our dream to get to Infinity War and Endgame level. We didn’t know obviously where that was going to go at the start of the studio, but it’s incredible to know that we were able to accomplish that. Now it’d be amazing if we could get to that level 10 years later, so I think it’s a dream to continue doing that and build upon the MCU and the connective tissue that we have. And now with obviously our Disney+ side and the shows and how our characters are venturing into that world and how that’s gonna lead to the future and more franchises and more stories and more properties and their connective tissue to the rest of the MCU, it would be amazing to do something like this 10 years later.”
So, if Marvel continues to have the massive success it’s been having, ten years from now they could start a whole new Infinity Saga story. I would personally love to see that story lead to Secret Wars. The Russo Bros. have said that they would get to Secret Wars one day and that that would be the story that would bring them back into the Marvel fold.
The Secret Wars story centered on Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains being transported to Battleworld thanks to a powerful being known as the Beyonder. It’s on Battleworld where the heroes and villains could decide once and for all whether good or evil was the greater force. The most recent Secret Wars comic saw a new Battleworld that was created out of remnants of several alternate reality timelines in the Marvel Comics multiverse.
Whatever Marvel ends up doing ten years from now, the films that are made between now and then will all have connective threads that lead to that story. Those films will lay the groundwork for what is to come and that will include mutants and the Fantastic Four.
I’m excited for the future of Marvel! There’s going to be a lot of great films to enjoy in the future and I can’t wait to see where it all leads and how it will evolve over the years.
