Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Says Fans Shouldn't Make Assumptions About Phase 4
One thing that Marvel fans love to do is talk and speculate about what they think will happen with the future of the franchise and the things that we'll see. That usually comes along with logical assumptions, and according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, fans shouldn't be making assumptions. When talking about holding off on the reveal of their future film slate, Feige told CinemaBlend:
"We're holding off on specifics on all of it for all the same reasons we hold off on everything. For the most part, it's keep the surprises going. The one thing I'll say is... the mere fact that those films exist, people shouldn't take any indication that they can now guess what will happen. Let's put it that way."
Of course, a statement like that is just going to want to make fans guess what will happen even more! Watch, I'm going to do it right now!
The only films that have been confirmed up until this point have been Spider-Man: Far From Home and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Since these characters have sequels it's a logical assumption to believe that these characters will be brought back in some way, but Kevin Feige doesn't want us to make those assumptions.
Other films that could be announced in Phase 4 include Black Panther 2, Black Widow, The Eternals, and Thor 4, but we'll just have to wait and see what the official line up will be. Maybe we'll get something completely different and off the wall, which would be cool. Benedict Cumberbatch did previously tease that the next phase of Marvel films is "about to explode into other dimensions." So anything is possible. Hell, Phase 4 could take place in an alternate reality!
Marvel is certainly keeping the fans on their toes and the fact that Feige is casting doubt in our assumptions is intriguing and will only lead us deeper into the rabbit hole of speculation.
