Marvel Studios' Streaming Head Reveals the Version of Ghost Rider He Wants to See in the MCU

I hope that one day Marvel Studios introduces Ghost Rider in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the question is, when they do, what version of the character will it be?

Nicholas Cage previously played the Johnny Blaze version of Ghost Rider on the big screen, and Gabriel Luna has played the Robbie Reyes version of Ghost Rider on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

While Johnny Blaze is my favorite version of the character, the one I would like to see make his debut in the MCU, Marvel Studios' Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum has a different idea.

Collider spoke with Winderbaum, and when Ghost Rider came up in the conversation, he chose Johnny Blaze's brother-in-hellfire, Danny Ketch.

He said: "I would wanna do the Danny Ketch era of Ghost Rider. I think there are a lot of people who would be here for some Ghost Rider.”

Now, just because he wants Ketch’s Ghost Rider doesn't mean that’s what Kevin Feige wants.

Danny Ketch is the second Ghost Rider, first appearing in Ghost Rider #1 in 1990. His journey begins when he stumbles upon a mystical motorcycle and a glowing medallion while trying to protect his sister, Barbara, from a gang attack.

Upon touching the medallion, Danny is transformed into the Ghost Rider, a Spirit of Vengeance with a flaming skull and a powerful chain weapon. Unlike the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, who was bonded with the demon Zarathos, Danny’s transformation is linked to a different spirit of vengeance named Noble Kale.

He gains the ability to exact vengeance on the guilty, primarily using the penance stare, which forces wrongdoers to feel the pain they’ve inflicted on others.

As Ghost Rider, Danny is driven by a deep sense of responsibility to protect the innocent, but he struggles with the dark and often violent nature of his powers.

His story arc explores the heavy burden of wielding such supernatural abilities, the toll it takes on his personal life, and the constant conflict between vengeance and justice.

Over time, Danny grows into his role, facing off against powerful enemies, including demonic forces, criminal syndicates, and other supernatural threats.
