Marvel Studios Reportedly Planning a GHOST RIDER Movie with A-List Actor
Marvel Studios is reportedly looking to develop a Ghost Rider movie and that they want an A-List star to take on the role of the supernatural anti-hero. Kevin Feige has been wanting to bring the Spirit of Vengeance into the MCU for years, and while there’s no time frame of when that will happen, it’s something that will move forward eventually.
It was initially reported at one point that Ghost Rider would be developed as a "Marvel Studios Special Presentation," but with Disney shifting its focus away from Disney+ to help increase theatrical profits, those plans may have shifted to developing it as a feature film.
The news. comes from scooper @MyTimeToShineH, who shares that Feige has decided to make Ghost Rider a movie. It’s then added that "Sacha Baron Cohen will return, obviously. And as for Ghost Rider, they want an A-Lister."
In case you don’t remember, Cohen is reportedly playing Mephisto in Marvel’s upcoming Ironheart series. Mephisto will supposedly appear “mostly” in his human form in the Ironheart series, but it’s said we will get “glimpses” of his true demonic appearance.
It was also previously reported that Mephisto is having The Hood steal tech tech that will be used to build “an advanced Bio-Suit” in the series. The series is said to have a “Magic vs Tech” theme.
With all of this going on, it would make sense to include Mephisto in a Ghost Rider movie. I like that the villain will merge the worlds of magic and science in the MCU.
Ghost Rider is such a badass Marvel character, and I would love to see him introduced into the MCU at some point. When he is, I hope Marvel does something bonkers with him!
I will note that Ryan Gosling has previously expressed interest in playing Ghost Rider. In regard to that Feige said, "Hey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider...Gosling’s unbelievable. Ryan is amazing. I'd love to find a place for him in the MCU."
