Marvel Studios Will Start Taking X-MEN Movie Pitches Soon From Writers
Ever since Disney bought 20th Century Fox and Marvel Studios regained the rights to all their mutant characters, fans have been looking forward to seeing and curious about what the studio is going to do with the X-Men team.
Well, it looks like the journey to rebooting the X-Men film franchise for Marvel Studios is going to start soon. With the writers’ strike now over, Marvel is ready to take pitches from writers for its X-Men movie!
According to Deadline, “Marvel will start setting writer meetings later this fall for pitches on its anticipated X-Men movie. Insiders add there is no rush to fill the job since the film hasn’t been dated yet, and it’s more than likely that writer decision will be made at the top of 2024.”
So, we’ve got a long way to go before a new X-Men movie actually gets made and hits theaters, but that long process is about to begin, and it’s kind of exciting!
In the meantime, we’ve got Deadpool 3 coming, which is going to see Deadpool on a journey with Wolverine from Fox to Disney, and along the way, a ton of characters for Fox’s X-Men universe are reportedly going to be included. So, this will be the closest thing we get to an X-Men movie before Marvel introduces the official MCU version of the mutant superhero team.
It’ll be interesting to see if that sets up the X-Men in the MCU, or if Marvel has a different plan in mind that isn’t really connected to the events of Deadpool 3.
While we wait to see how this all plays out, what are some ideas that you have for an X-Men movie in the MCU?
