MARVEL ZOMBIES Poster Cleverly Nods to Iconic Moment From THE WALKING DEAD
Marvel is diving deep into the undead with Marvel Zombies, and the latest poster comes with a clever wink to one of the most unforgettable zombie TV moments ever.
The artwork shows a pair of double doors barely holding back a horde of rotting MCU heroes. Across the doors is scrawled the warning: “Don’t open Avengers inside.”
If that looks familiar, it’s because it’s a playful twist on The Walking Dead’s first episode, where Rick Grimes discovers hospital doors painted with “Don’t open dead inside.”
That original scene became a viral meme thanks to the awkward spacing, which made it read like “Don’t dead open inside.” The Marvel Zombies poster sidesteps the confusion by using two different colors to separate the words clearly.
Of course, the real highlight here is the zombified hands trying to push their way through. Look closely and you’ll spot the claws of Scarlet Witch, Captain America, Namor, Hawkeye, Okoye, and even Abomination reaching for the light.
The series is packed with MCU heavy hitters on both sides of the undead divide. Survivors include Ms. Marvel, Yelena Belova, Kate Bishop, Spider-Man, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, and more.
The infected, however, are just as stacked, with Captain Marvel, Ghost, and even Thanos among the corpses. Fans will also get to see Blade make his MCU debut, though according to producers, that wasn’t something they realized would happen when the show first went into development.
