Marvel's IRONHEART Cast Talks BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Fallout and "Complex, Dynamic" Take on the Hood
Marvel’s Ironheart series wrapped production in 2022 but nothing has been released yet. There has been footage screened at events, but nothing has been officially released.
Apparently, Marvel still plans on releasing the series, and maybe something will be released during this weekend’s big D23 event.
While we wait and see, Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos recently appeared on the Official Marvel Podcast, and they tease how the series deals with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's fallout and The Hood's Marvel debut.
Thorne said: "We actually went straight from Wakanda Forever to filming the series, so I was very, very grateful for that. It was a smooth transition. This is definitely my first time doing the deep dive into the character after showing her to the world. That was new to me but it was fun."
She continued: "I think it’s safe to say the things that happened in Wakanda required a lot of self-reflection. If you start an interspecies war, we might all encourage each other to take a breath, I think we can say that sheʼs taking that to heart and considering what it means to show up in this world and space in the way that she does."
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts and Twisters star Anthony Ramos also talked about the series, specifically the villain he plays in the story, The Hood.
Ramos said: "He is amazing. He is incredible. He is the coolest villain in Marvel history. Iʼm excited for the Hood and Riri Williams face-off. Itʼs a really cool build-up to that in the story and itʼs a really intense rivalry that we have."
"I'm really excited for people to see all the layers, especially in Parker. Parker is a really complex guy and we really worked hard to make him a dynamic character.”
We have no idea about what has been going on behind the scenes for this series and why it’s taking so long to release it. My best guess is that the series isn’t that good and they have been trying their best to fix it and make it somewhat watchable.
The six-episode series was created by Chinaka Hodge, and the story follows Riri Williams, a young engineering genius and the creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. The series will be set after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
It was previously said that the theme of Ironheart will be “Magic vs Tech.” Producer Nate Moore has said that he views the Ironheart series as a direct sequel to Wakanda Forever.
He said: "That show is an outgrowth of how much we liked her in this movie and even on the page. So, when we talked with [Dominique Throne] initially, obviously the character had been written to the script and she was the one and only person we talked about for the role. When she said yes and we were down the road with the script, we also started talking with [Ryan Coogler] about what the show could be.
"So, the show is a direct sequel to the movie. And [Riri Williams] is carrying the experiences she had in this movie back home to MIT. And there are some interesting repercussions to her adventures that will set her on a fun course."
Is anyone excited about this series? Do you think it will end up being good!?
