Marvel's New RUNAWAYS Series is Connected to the Marvel Netflix Universe
It's still a very vague and rocky road to tread when discussing the connections between the Marvel film universe and Marvel Netflix universe and even the TV universe that Marvel has created.
With recent casting of the same Marvel character with different actresses in a Netflix and an MCU project, the line that we once thought didn't exist, now almost certainly does. That character being played by two different actresses is Tilda Johnson a.k.a. Nighthawk and she will be in Luke Cage and Black Panther. And while there may still be hope that we might see Daredevil or Jessica Jones team up with the Avengers some day, there might be other characters they can team up with in the meantime.
Jeph Loeb recently made a statement letting the world know that the new series of the Runaways will take place in the same universe that Netflix series takes place in. This means that the characters may be aware of each other and possibly even cross over. Probably not right away, but at least sometime in the future.
This makes me think there may be some other characters who might exist for both series more than anything else. A character that I have been waiting for, for too long would fit nicely in both series... The Hood. He is a street thug who with a little help from magic trinkets becomes a serious threat to the underworld. He is a magic user with demon ties, which would give him a connection to Nico as well as Alex Wilder, although Alex Wilder becomes more demon related much later, but still. The Hood would be a great character in both series to connect them together.
Whatever the connection means, with the people in charge giving a clear statement that the shows are connected means a lot. I mean, they wouldn't do that just to boost the views of both their shows and then have very little connection at all, right? That... would... be completely logical. I just really don't want the references to be super vague and cheesy like, "the big green guy". I can already see some line about "hell's kitchen's devil guy". Sigh. Oh well. It's something.
Jeph Loeb says that @Runaways lives in the same world as Netflix's Marvel shows, how it's connected remains to be seen. #TCA17

After deciding they're no longer safe in their own homes, the kids go on the run. In the midst of hiding from their elders, the teens learn about themselves and become a family of their own.”
