Marvel's ROGERS: THE MUSICAL Gets a Behind-The-Scenes Video Before Its Big Debut

Marvel’s Rogers: The Musical is coming to Disneyland’s California Adventure Park’s Hyperion Theater this summer, and today we’ve got a new behind-the-scenes making of video for you to watch that offers up some fun details about the stage play.

Rogers: The Musical is based on the life of Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America. What we saw in Hawkeye showcased a show-stopping musical number based upon The Avengers’ battle of New York, entitled “Save the City.” The original song was co-written by Scott Wittman and producer Marc Shaiman

When the play first appeared in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, it quickly became a fan-favorite sensation and audiences wanted to see it brought to life for real. Well, that is now happening, and it looks like it’ll be an incredibly fun live performance.

Rogers: The Musical came about when Kevin Feige wanted to meet Shaiman and Wittman at an Academy Awards dinner: "Turns out Kevin is a film score nerd. He started talking about [the scores I've written] one by one and I was like, I cannot believe this is happening. We started trading emails about scores and this and that, and when I would see [Marvel movies] I would send him an email. I guess when this idea came up for Hawkeye, for there to be a musical on Broadway, he luckily thought of us, and [Scott and I] couldn't be more ecstatic about it."

The new video features a look at set design, music rehearsals, and more! Rogers: The Musical is taking place for a limited time June 30 through August 31st.
