Marvel's ETERNALS Will Include a Love Triangle Storyline Between Serisi, Ikaris, and Black Knight
Thanks to actress Gemma Chan, who plays Sersi in Marvel’s upcoming film Eternals, we have some new details to share with you regarding certain aspects of the story that the movie will tell.
Kumail Nanjiani previously revealed that the main characters in the story were sent to Earth thousands of years go. In the comics, they were sent to Earth by the Celestials 35,000 years ago. During an interview with Vanity Fair Italy, Chan revealed that these characters were sent to Earth 7,000 years ago.
"Specifically, it is the story of a group of immortal aliens, who arrived on Earth seven thousand years ago, so the plot takes place in a very long period of time.”
She went on to talk about her character Serisi and how she will be involved with two love stories, saying:
“Sersi is the one that has the most affinity with humans, indeed it is even involved in two love stories, an absolute novelty for Marvel events and one of the reasons that attracted me to this project.”
Like in the comics, this love triangle will involve Dane Whitman a.k.a. Black Knight (Kit Harington) and Richard Madden's Ikaris. We don’t really know anything about the story for this movie, so it’s nice to get little bits of information like this giving us a little tease of what’s coming. When previously talking about the movie, Kevin Feige said:
"It is a very big movie. It is a very expensive movie. And we are making it because we believe in [director Chloe Zhao's] vision and we believe in what those characters can do and we believe we need to continue to grow and evolve and change and push our genre forward. That's a risk if I've ever heard one."
Eternals hits theaters on November 6th.
