Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Role in STAR WARS: AHSOKA Reportedly Revealed
When it was initially announced that Mary Elizebeth Winstead was cast in Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Ahsoka, we had no idea who she might be playing in the series. Now, according to a report from The Bespin Bulletin, we’ve learned that she might be playing fan-favorite Star Wars Rebels character Hera Syndulla!
If this is true, it’s pretty fantastic casting! Winstead will be great in this role! It was safe to assume that this character would appear in the series as Hera is the captain/pilot of the freight ship the Ghost, and owner of the astromech droid known as Chopper and she had a tight relationship with Ahsoka. She also led various missions against the Empire and appears in a number of books and games, such as Star Wars: Squadrons.
The story for the series follows Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson) and Sabine (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) as they hunt for Grand Admiral Thrawn in hopes that it will lead them to find the lost Ezra Bridger, the young Jedi who disappeared with Thrawn many years ago. I previously got to see some footage from the series and it was pretty cool!
Dawson is also joined by Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ivanna Sakhno, Eman Esfandi, and Ray Stevenson.
The limited series is written by Dave Filoni, who is executive producing along with Jon Favreau and Kathleen Kennedy. What do you think about Winstead possibly taking on the role of Hera in Ahsoka?
