Matt Reeves Casts Twins Max and Charlie Carver in THE BATMAN
Matt Reeves may be deep into production on DC’s The Batman, but he’s added two new cast members to the film. According to A.V. Club, Teen Wolf and The Leftovers alums and identical twins Max and Charlie Carver have joined the project. We don’t know who exactly they will be playing, but it’s said that they have “sizable roles.”
The movie stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz, as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano will play the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright will play Commissioner Gordon, Andy Serkis is set to play Alfred, John Turturro has been cast in the role of Carmine Falcone, and Peter Sarsgaard and Jayme Lawson are playing new characters created for the film.
The Batman will be a noir-style film that will lean into Batman in his detective mode and will focus on his younger years. It’s rumored that the story will take place during year two. We’ve seen some photos from the set of the film giving us a look at Pattinson’s Batman costume, and it has caused a stir among fans.
When previously talking about the film, Reeves said:
“It's very much a point of view-driven, noir Batman tale. It's told very squarely on his shoulders, and I hope it's going to be a story that will be thrilling but also emotional. It's more Batman in his detective mode than we've seen in the films. The comics have a history of that.”
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on June 25th, 2021.
