Matt Reeves Clarifies His Recent Comments Saying THE BATMAN is a Part of The DCEU
Remember yesterday when director Matt Reeves commented on The Batman saying that would not be a part of the DCEU. This was his quote:
" Well I have a vision for a way to do something with that character [Batman] that feels like it resonates with me personally, and a perspective that can grow out into other things. When they [Warner Bros.] approached me, what they said was 'look, it’s a standalone, it’s not part of the extended universe.'"
Well, today he took to Twitter to clarify his comments and now he's saying that The Batman is a part of the DCEU. Here are his tweets clarifying what he meant when he said what he said:
Jeez, what'd I miss, guys...? 😀

Just to be clear: Of COURSE Batman will be part of the D.C. Universe. Batman will be BATMAN...
In my comments from a while back about not being part of the DCEU, I was talking about The Batman being a story specifically about Batman...

...not about the others in the Universe. That it wouldn't be filled with cameos servicing other stories -- that it would be a BATMAN story.

Reeves is learning very quickly that he has to be very carful about what he says. As hardcore fans, we tend to read between the lines and dissect what he's saying. This is one of the few outcomes that I brought up in the article I posted yesterday.
So, Matt Reeves' Batman will be connected to the DCEU, which means we can still expect to see Ben Affleck reprise his role.
Now that this is all cleared up, you can return to your regularly scheduled program.
