Matthew Vaughn Feels That He Has an "Obligation" to Make a New FANTASTIC FOUR Film
I know a lot of Marvel movie fans could care less about seeing a new Fantastic Four film outside of the hands of Marvel Studios at this point. Fox has just royally screwed it up with their attempts, especially the last one that was directed by Josh Trank. That film was a disaster.
But, what would you think about Kingsman: The Golden Circle director Matthew Vaughn taking on a new big screen adaptation of Fantastic Four? During a recent interview with Cinema Blend, the director says that he feels an "obligation" to make up for that last attempt to bring these characters to the big screen.
“The other one I’ve felt an obligation to do is, I wouldn’t mind maybe making a Fantastic Four film to apologize to everyone out there that maybe it didn’t go very well for them. It’s brilliant. One of my favorites is the Fantastic Four, so maybe one day I’ll try and rectify the mistake.”
You know what? I would actually trust Vaughn with the franchise. I loved what he did with Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, so I think he would actually give us a badass Fantastic Four film adaptation.
Right now, the studio is currently developing a kids version of Fantastic Four, which seems absolutely ridiculous. But that's the direction they are currently looking take the franchise at this point for some reason. It's like they are just going out of their way to piss off fans!
Since they won't give the Fantastic Four film rights back to Marvel, at least give Vaughn a chance to show us what he could do with it! What do you think about Vaughn wanting to direct a Fantastic Four movie? Do you think he would be a good choice?
