That FANTASTIC FOUR Kids Movie in Development at Fox is Said to Be a Rework of KINDERGARTEN HEROES
A couple of months ago we learned that Fox might be developing a kid friendly version of Fantastic Four. The movie was supposedly being developed by Seth Grahame-Smith (Dark Shadows) and it was said to center around Sue and Reed Richard's children Franklin and Valeria Richards, as well as Thing and Human Torch.
Today we have some new details on the project from Bleeding Cool. They are saying that the Fantastic Four film is actually a rework of an unpublished Mark Millar children's book called Kindergarten Heroes. Millar ended up pitching the idea to Fox in 2013 and they picked up the option.
The studio was developing the Kindergarten Heroes as a movie and it even had a screenplay written by Carter Blanchard. That project has now become the basis for their Fantastic Four kids movie. The report says:
What was going to be Kindergarten Heroes has now been merged/stripmined to create the new Fantastic Four kids project, the current draft of which we heard was written by Seth Grahame-Smith.
I've said it before and I'll say it again... I just wish Fox would stop with all this Fantastic Four nonsense and just give the rights back to Marvel! It's really hard to be excited about a movie like this. Does Fox really think the success of the Fantastic Four films lies in kid movies!?
I wonder... will we see these Fantastic Four toddlers eventually fight Victor Von Doom? As we've reported before, Doom is getting his own solo film and it would be hilarious if these kids ended up fighting this upcoming version of Doom!
Do you have any thought to share on this ridiculousness?
